This year, the National Children's Book Festival will be held in the city of Sliven. It will take place for the twenty-second time, in the period September 23-25, 2020. Due to the situation with COVID-19, the events will have enhanced safety measures, most of the program will be outdoors, but there will be a festival. We (as always!) will be there to cover it, and here are some of the planned events. Expect the new program of the festival soon, which we will share as soon as we receive it. The main driver of the celebration is the Regional Library "Sava Dobroplodni" in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sliven Municipality, Regional Administration - Sliven, Association "Bulgarian Book", DABC, etc.
Here is part of the planned program of the festival. Along with the numerous events organized within the festival, in order to provoke the imagination and creativity of children, a National Literary Competition and a National Competition for Making Theater Puppets of Favorite Literary Characters are held annually, and this year an International Student Illustration Competition on the theme "FROM THE FAIRYTALE WORLD OF VALERIE PETROV" has been announced, in which many children and teenagers from all over the country and from Bulgarian communities abroad participate.
You can learn more about the competitions in the links, and we will be there to make you part of the celebration!
