The main goal of the page is to unite Bulgarian illustrators and artists working in the field of book graphics in a common platform where they can freely present their work for various Bulgarian and foreign publishers, authors and projects.
In the process of developing the page, publishers will also be able to present their publications drawn by Bulgarian artists.
Authors working in the field of criticism will be given the opportunity to share their views, ideas, criticism and advice in various articles that will be published.
Various interviews and presentations will be held, various events and actions will be monitored, which will be regularly reflected in articles and reports.
The Facebook page "Bulgarian Illustration" began its work on March 14, 2017, and the website on May 9 of the same year. The idea is from the illustrator Dr. Milena Radeva, who has been working for authors and publishers outside the country for many years. She graduated with a bachelor's and master's degree from the National Academy of Arts, majoring in "Book and Printed Graphics", and in 2017 she defended her dissertation "Bulgarian Artistic Illustration from the Early 40s to the Late 80s of the 20th Century. Trends and Phenomena". She is the author of various articles on the topic of illustration in Bulgaria and is an artist for nearly 400 publications for children.

In 2018, the Site signed an agreement with the Sofia Library to create a National Biennial of Illustration, which will mark 50 years since the first such event in Bulgaria and will be part of the library's 90th anniversary. (As a clarification, we would like to note that the Biennial of Bulgarian Illustration has not existed since 1992.)

For her work "in the field" during the National Children's Book Festival in Sliven 2018, Milena Radeva was awarded a certificate from the Sava Dobroplodni Regional Library, the Ministry of Culture and the Regional Administration, and the Municipality of Sliven.

On June 15, 2018, the site also won the National Award named after Hristo G. Danov in the category "Electronic Publishing and New Technologies".
