Malinka Tsvetokova presented her third poetry collection, entitled “Fear”, at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Spanish capital – Madrid. The guest of the event was the Ambassador of Bulgaria to the Kingdom – Ivan Kondov. Among the audience were also the organizer of the event – Violina Petkova – cultural attaché at the Embassy, employees of the diplomatic mission, writers, translators, teachers from five Bulgarian associations, lawyers.
The poetry collection was presented in Bulgarian and Spanish, and the illustrations to it – the work of the artist Tsvetelina Atanasova – also from Botevgrad, served as a background.

A publication about the event was published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It said:
A presentation of the poetry collection “Fear” (2016) by the Bulgarian poet Malinka Tsvetkova, who has been living in Spain for a decade, took place at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Spain. “Fear” has been published in three languages: Bulgarian, Spanish and Catalan, and the author is the winner of numerous awards for poetry and short stories awarded in Bulgaria, Spain, Argentina and Ecuador. Malinka Tsvetkova was introduced by the head of the cultural service of the embassy, and an analysis of her work was made by a special guest from Bulgaria – Maria Pachkova, a translator, journalist and a well-known name to all Bulgarian readers and lovers of Spanish and Latin American literature. Additional emphasis and atmosphere to the event was given by a small exhibition of illustrations for the poetry collection “Fear” – the work of the artist Tsvetelina Atanasova.
The poetry readings were followed by a discussion about the messages of poetry, its role in our daily lives, the invaluable contribution of translators and the difficulties of generating interest in Bulgarian authors and their works – almost completely unknown on the Spanish book market. The participants in the presentation and representatives of the Bulgarian community in Madrid, followed by teachers, writers, translators, lawyers, representatives of several Bulgarian associations and other Spanish and Bulgarian guests, joined in with their questions and opinions. Ambassador Kondov was also present at the event, who offered his congratulations to the author.
In conclusion, the head of the cultural service of the embassy noted that one of the goals of the event is for Bulgarians in Spain interested in writing and literature to establish contact with each other. He encouraged those present to join forces in the future with the aim of forming a club of friends of the book and holding more such events.
