We assume that it is no surprise to anyone that the Bulgarian Association of Booksellers is canceling some of its events, here is the official statement from the management. We are awaiting further decisions of the association regarding the upcoming (or not) Spring Book Fair.
“At its regular meeting held on 09.03.2020, in order to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus and considering the restrictive measures adopted by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria related to holding indoor events with the participation of more people throughout the country, the Management Board of the Association adopted the following decisions:
– Postpones the holding of the national initiative in support of reading “The March of Books” for a later period during the year;
– Cancels the holding of the 3rd Sofia International Literary Festival for Children and Youth;
At this stage, the Association continues with the preparation of the Spring Book Bazaar in the hope that by the dates of the event in May, the situation will normalize and it will take place as planned. The Association team is monitoring the regulations and recommendations and is ready to react according to them, disseminating information in a timely manner.
