Yesterday's April Fool's Day – April 1st, became a kind of introduction to today's International Children's Book Day. Sopharma AD organized a fairy-tale day for children and parents. The reading "Tales in Sopharma" was attended by actor Ivaylo Zahariev and his young son, who read an excerpt from "Franklin"; Radostina Nikolova, who told about the World of Mottos and Elena Vundaba; actress Simona Halacheva with "Ronya, the Robber's Daughter", who gave away tickets for the production of the same name at the Sofia Theater; actress Yoanna Temelkova with "Beauty and the Beast"; illustrator Maya Bocheva with her interactive game books "This And That". The program also included two workshops.
“Through the live contact and the impact of the artistic word, the initiative seeks to encourage the love of the youngest for the richness of literature, to draw the attention of parents to the educational power of books and to involve families in the public cause of art” – this is how the organizers announced the event, which delighted both young and old. And we were delighted with the fact that two of the books presented were by Bulgarian authors illustrated by Bulgarian artists – Maya Bocheva and Melina-Elina Bondokova! Their books were sold in a separate corner, and the authors did not stop giving out autographs. The collected amount will be donated to the “Borrowed Village” initiative.
