The doyen of Bulgarian art, Lyuben Zidarov, in partnership with Nobel laureate Anatole France, and the cartoonist Chavdar Nikolov in a conversation about the things of life with James Joyce and Virginia Woolf! Such dialogues are possible only in art, and the exhibition "Fold the Classics!" focuses on the meetings of contemporary Bulgarian artists with some of the most important names in European and world literature from the 19th and 20th centuries. As well as on the echo of these meetings in children from 5 to 16 years old and their parents, grandparents.

It is remarkable to watch how the artist Kapka Kaneva becomes a co-author of Mark Twain with the help of scissors, paper, glue, light and shadows, and her colleague Mila Yaneva-Tabakova recreates the soul of Mary Shelley with watercolors. Or how the illustrations of Damyan Damyanov make children fly to Brazil with the characters of Daniil Kharms. The same is true of Svoboda Tsekova’s works, inspired by Osip Mandelstam, and Milena Valnarova’s works, inspired by Valeri Petrov’s “White Fairy Tale”. Or the fantasies of Yulian Tabakov based on the fantasies of E.E. Cummings!

The current exhibition is part of the “RazLISTI Sofia!” project by the “List” publishing house, implemented under the “Culture” program of the Sofia Municipality. Its main focus is the creation and expansion of the visual culture of children of preschool and school age, as well as of the knowledge of Bulgarian art and world literature of adults.
