An exhibition dedicated to the 108th anniversary of the birth of Nikola Yonkov Vaptsarov has been arranged at the Regional Library, which includes documents from the library's collection.

Visitors can see the phototype edition of the poet's only poetry collection published during his lifetime (1940) - "Motor Songs" with illustrations by the great Bulgarian artist Boris Angelushev, translated into a number of languages. Also shown are phototype editions of his handwritten notebooks, biographical documents, scientific studies, articles from periodicals, speeches and poems by world writers dedicated to the great poet, records with performances of his poems.
Vaptsarov has long been not only a Bulgarian poet - he is a poet of the world, a worthy ambassador of Bulgarian culture. He was posthumously awarded the International Peace Prize in 1952, which was awarded to his mother Elena Vaptsarova in 1953.
Another small part of the poems dedicated to the poet by Yannis Ritsos, Manuel Hidalgo, Ganga Vimal, Nikolay Egorov, Kemal Özer are presented, as well as words about him by James Aldridge, John Cheever, Pierre Gamara, Sergey Mikhalkov and Azis Nesin.
We have also told you about the first edition of N. Vaptsarov's poetry collection in the article "Worthy, talented and skillful hands".
