On May 12, the first paleoart exhibition by Vladimir Nikolov, entitled “Moments in Time: A Walk with Dinosaurs,” will open at the Archaeological Museum-Karnobat. Attendees will have the opportunity to see large-format prints of 16 of his works, created over the past 9 years and realized in various artistic techniques.
The event is part of the European Night of Museums 2023 and is being held at the initiative of Rositsa Hristova, Director of the Archaeological Museum-Karnobat, and with the support of the Municipality of Karnobat. After the opening of the exhibition, a lecture on the topic “Dinosaurs in Bulgaria: Significance and History of Research” will be presented.

On May 10 at 5:30 p.m., the book "Song of the Titans" will be presented at the National Museum of Natural History - BAS. It is a popular science book that traces the history of the third expedition to the dinosaur site near the town of Tran, which took place in 2020. Through a first-person narrative that carries a travelogue element, the author attempts to present in understandable language the nature of paleontological work, the basics of the methods and analyses that are used to study the ancient past of life and the planet, as well as the problems faced by scientists in our country who have chosen paleontology as their life path. In order to clarify scientific terms and concepts, a detailed terminological dictionary has been prepared, and over 30 photographs from the fieldwork, diagrams and author's artistic reconstructions of dinosaurs and other ancient animals illustrate the text.
The book will be available in the shop of the National Museum of Natural History – BAS from May 10, and between May 11 and 14 it will be available for purchase from the Museum’s stand at the Sofia Science Festival 2023.
