Teen novels. How do we talk about difficult topics with children in puberty and can we use books as a mediator.
Friendship, betrayal, love, popularity, isolation. Bullying and violence at school. Death, murder and suicide. Drugs and the need for rebellion. And more – growing up without parents, the need for a friend who doesn't underestimate you, the important role of idols.
When we say that teenagers don't read, haven't we just got the wrong books? Do we know what really excites them, what they encounter at school, what information they look for on the Internet? The role of vloggers and book discussion groups in attracting their interest in books. Who speaks the right language and with wisdom appropriate to the problems of puberty?
The discussion will feature Rada Petrova from Egmont Publishing House, Maria Chuncheva from Enthusiast Publishing House, Milena Tasheva from Softpress Publishing House, Anastasia Karnaukh from the website "Chitatel" and Alexander Krastev from the website "Az Cheta".
The discussion is part of the Year of the Children's Book 2017 program, announced by the National Book Center - NDK
Presentation: October 21, 2017, 4:00 p.m.
