On the eve of World Children's Book Day, the National Book Center - NDK will present the second catalog "Children's Books from Bulgaria: Contemporary Writers and Artists". The event will take place on April 1 (Saturday) at 4:00 PM at the Peroto Literary Club. The publication aims to support the development of Bulgarian children's literature and illustration for children. The catalog follows the line set in the first catalog and seeks to show a foreign audience (literary agents, foreign publishers and other organizations) that children's literature is actively developing in Bulgaria.
"The catalog will be presented at the Bologna Fair in 2017, as well as at other forums for the promotion of Bulgarian literature. What is remarkable about this project is that it presents equally the creative work of writers, as well as that of illustrators," notes the executive director of the NDK, Miroslav Borshosh.
The publication is entirely in English, with translation and editing by Angela Rodel, and the cover and book art by Damyan Damyanov. Valentina Stoeva from the Children's Books Foundation and the team of the National Book Center headed by Mihaela Petrova are the compilers of the catalog.
