“Three years ago we were working on an animation project when Borko got up from his chair and disappeared. After about 3 hours he came back – he had gone to the lake to take pictures. As usual, he was then looking at the photos on his computer when I saw a stilt walker walking briskly on the monitor. That’s how the first photostation was born” – shared the illustrator in the team Melina-Elina Bondokova for us
The project of photographer and animator Borislav Hristov and illustrator Melina-Elina Bondokova was presented in Burgas in early August (August 11-21, 2017) in the central part of the sea garden.
“Every time I look at Borislav’s photographs, various plots and stories are born in my head, when we comment on them and he complements the picture with some other pearl on the topic.”
Thus begins the “collecting” of ideas and the accumulation of working files that are eager to see the light of day. Martina Kutsarova from “Burgas Loves Young People” came forward to support the artists, giving them the freedom to position their works in the city, and the municipality helped with financing and was available for everything the project needed for its implementation. Finally, the exhibition found its perfect place next to the Pantheon in Burgas. The background and the view completely complement the catchy photo sections – hills, the sea is visible, resin is dripping down one of the photo sections… “very natural :)”
Prints of the illustrations can be purchased through the Facebook page of the studio “Pavilon”. There are 20 works in total, and their size is 100x150 cm. The authors have also created a short animated collection of photos with animation added to them for the exhibition – you can view it on the studio’s Behance page – here.
“The reason for this exhibition is very simple – we made it to make people smile, to show that art is not a solitary activity and that many authors can work on one product. And the more, the more…”
And indeed, the exhibition can make anyone who sees it smile. Professional photographs and creative ideas have merged in an incredible way, creating extremely convincing situations. The subtle humor and incredibly realistic artistic processing of the photos will impress both young and old, and the neat details will make you fall in love with the bird’s styling. And in the end, who would doubt the singing abilities of a herring gull?
