The August edition of “Sofia Breathes” 2017 has definitely become a place for meetings, fun and entertainment in the city center. The square around the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is the place where the cultural festival is held this year, unlike before, when the locations were changed every week.
The colorful tents can offer literally everything to everyone – handmade and craft souvenirs, causes, ideas, sports, children's activities, food and drinks and much more. The space is divided into six zones, each of which has its own program for the two days.

But where did our gaze stop yesterday?!
Entering from G. S. Rakovski Street, you find yourself in the “Creative Zone”, where you will find quite a few book pavilions and design studios. Somehow (or at least that’s how it seemed to me) the emphasis was on certain works and, more specifically, on the presentation of Bulgarian authors. IK Janet and Colibri had their own program and readings that attracted the attention of visitors.
A little further on are improvised “gallery spaces” that present various authors. Among them is MORPH, whom we have already told you about, with his sincere illustrations, which (at the risk of repeating ourselves) are truly impressive!
Among the tents you will also find the well-known “Golden Apple” and their film “The Legend of the First Kuker”. And next door is “Grozen entertainment”, on whose stage yesterday the authors Ivan Koritarev, Rumen Chaushev, Petar Stanimirov and Kaloyan Panov were presented. Today their program continues with Lyubomir Iliev, Satanasov, Diana Kalugina, Diana Naneva, Anna Tsocheva, Maya Bocheva – Wicky, Nadezhda Katsarova, Sibila Koritareva, Niko Popov and Ivan Koritarev. The film “RAINBOW”, which premiered in March this year, will also be shown in the nearby Cinema Pavilion.
And speaking of comics, authors and games, Maya Bocheva – Wicky and Radostina Nikolova are in the “Children’s Zone”, as in addition to their works they also have a children’s workshop during the day. You can find their author’s books at their stand, and they themselves (both!) are working on their next projects, which we will be looking forward to.
These are just some of the entertainment this year. Those of you who were unable to attend the festival yesterday (August 26), don't miss this opportunity today (August 27)!
