The Sofia Library presents the exhibition "Forgotten Paintings from Unforgettable Books" of drawings and engravings by Rumen Skorchev and Petar Chukhovski, as well as books with their illustrations - masterfully executed works based on texts by Byron, Lermontov, Bagritsky and others.
The two great Bulgarian artists are presented in the current exhibition with magnificent, virtuoso illustrations and drawings, as well as with delight and adoration for the literary works of world poets and writers.
The selected works by the two authors are being shown for the first time and are only part of the donations made to the Sofia Library - the cultural institute that has housed engravings, drawings, paintings and other masters who, with their artistic heritage, have transformed the temple of the book and into a Museum - a keeper of high examples of fine art.
The exhibition continues until September 15, 2017. After that, it will be presented in schools and other cultural institutes in Sofia and the country.
