In 2023, the Regional History Museum-Sofia and the Society of Animalists, Florists and Scientific Illustrators celebrate 5 years of successful cooperation.
On July 27, 2023, the third in a series of solo exhibitions dedicated to the occasion opens. It is entitled "From the Birds of the Balkan Peninsula to Medicinal Plants" and includes selected representative works by Georgi Pchelarov. The earliest original illustrations in the exhibition are from the emblematic publication "Birds of the Balkan Peninsula" from 1991, which contains 1992 color and 211 black and white author's illustrations by Georgi Pchelarov. In 2012, the determinant, known and sought after by both specialists and ornithology enthusiasts, was reissued, and the second edition also includes new illustrations by the author. You can also see them in this exhibition.
In addition, illustrations published in Magazine 8 in 2015, 2016 and 2019 are presented. Some of them are from the UBB collection. Another important representative of the artist's most current creative directions are 12 botanical illustrations from this year's calendar of the Medical University of Plovdiv, provided for the exhibition by the Museum of Medicine at the university.
Georgi Pchelarov, as chairman of DAFNI and most involved in choosing the thematic frameworks of the exhibitions, participates in all annual exhibitions, open-air exhibitions and other activities of the society. The exhibition brings together paintings from all DAFNI exhibitions over the past five years.
