Expected or not, this year's edition of the Bologna Children's Book Fair is CANCELLED! Here is the official statement from the organizers:
“To all our dear exhibitors, visitors, partners and friends,
It is with great sadness that we announce our decision to cancel the 57th edition of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
Unfortunately, the spread of the coronavirus epidemic both in Italy and internationally has dashed our hopes of holding the fair even on the recently announced rescheduled dates of May 4-7. That is why we have made the difficult decision not to wait any longer and to act now, so that you can all change your plans.
However, Bologna will be there. We are working to recreate the online atmosphere and business opportunities that are such a big part of our fair. Details will be announced soon, so stay tuned!
We would like to thank everyone for the heartfelt support you have shown us during these difficult weeks – a friendship that makes us – BCBF and all of Bologna, extremely proud and joyful.
We look forward to See you online in a few weeks and in Bologna from 12 to 15 April 2021.
