With the arrival of a new year comes the natural astronomical need for a new calendar. That's why we looked for some more different and creative solutions than the trivial and "authorless" photos of kittens, Bulgarian Renaissance houses, or off-season still lifes.

Here is what 10 Bulgarian illustrators have created, whose calendars and works will delight you all year long:

If we see a drawing of a dog on the horizon, be sure that it is by Anelia Pashova! She has been creating incredible portraits of pets for years, and two months ago her first book "Dog Work" was released on the market, published by Tochitsa Publishing House.

Victoria Paeva's calendar was presented on December 15th at the recently opened Gifted Sofia space. The twelve sheets were displayed as prints on a wooden base, and each page illustrates a custom of the month.

Zdravka Budinova – Zdravolina, offers a more interactive version of a calendar. The entire calendarium is hand-drawn, and the illustration, which at first glance is black and white, is actually a coloring page – extremely suitable for a boring work day at the office! The sheet is available in three versions.

Iva Dimitrova, who we know from her graphic participation in the Print Nest exhibitions, combines her graphic drawings with bright spots of color. And as she herself says: "the calendar contains from a dachshund to a yeti and is clipped together with a clip."

Maya Bocheva - Wiki will talk to us about the time we often don't have enough of in 2018. Her calendar is thematically tied to her latest book-game "What Time Is It?", which she presented during the book fair.

For the sixth consecutive year, Milena Radeva has created her "flower calendars", with the theme for 2018 being "Tulips". The series is again limited to 20 issues, and this year they also come with cards.

Nedyalko Ivanov – Necho will delight us again this year with his crazy images that will bring you lots of laughter and emotions throughout the year. You will find a subtle sense of humor and hidden references in every month.

Petya Konstantinova, whose picture you can't miss if you participated in the ICU Publishing House's New Year's fortune-telling, has made not only a wall calendar, but also a small calendar for notes.

Stanimira Petrova and her charming red-haired heroine are this year in the company of the monster Boo (who loves to eat) – again with a reference to the author's book. Colorful, charming and playful tea stories for 2018.

This is how 2018 begins, we hope it will be filled with lots of color and beauty for both illustrators and publishers, as well as their readers. Happy New Year!
