The first art and photo book fair in Bulgaria – Sofia Art Book Fair concluded its program with a book exhibition. It was the largest event in the week of the festival. Its main goal was, in addition to presenting to the general public a different view of books and in particular author's publications, art books, samizdat projects and concepts of individual artists and to introduce the participants to each other. The exhibition gathered under the roof of Cosmos coworking camp more than 20 participants, who personally presented their publications. Between September 23 and 24, visitors had the opportunity to view and purchase art and photo books, comics and fanzines and other experimental and limited editions.

It seems that the international participation in the overall program of the fair is greater. Among the guests of the exhibition were the French artist and collector Thomas Sauvan, whose project Beijing Silvermine was shown at the last edition of Paris Photo, the Dutch photographer Ellen Kort, whose latest book Charkow was awarded the International Photobook Award for 2017, the French collector of found photography Jean-Marie Donna and his publishing house Innocences and the documentary photography publishing house FotoEvidence, founded by Svetlana Bakhchevanova. Among the Bulgarian participants were the photographer Vesselina Nikolaeva, the artists Boris Pramatarov and Martina Vacheva, who will show their author's publications and graphic prints. The stands of Hip-Hip library presented various art publications, comics and fanzines, and the photobook platform PUK!, offered books by Bulgarian photographers such as: Pepa Hristova and Evgeniya Maksimova.

On 23.09 at 20:00. at Cosmos coworking camp held a presentation by the Spanish documentary photographer Carlos Spotorno, awarded many times for his work as a photojournalist, author of photobooks and winner of the World Press Photo award. Carlos presented to the audience of the Sofia Art Book Fair his latest project – the photobook “La Grieta”, a photo-comic about the refugee wave, which also includes footage from Bulgaria.
