Presentation of a printed edition marking 10 years since the establishment of the Master's Program "Calligraphy" at the Department of "Poster and Visual Communication", National Academy of Arts
The current limited edition, dedicated to 10 years of the Master's Program "Calligraphy" at the Department of "Poster and Visual Communication", is realized in the form of a calligraphic poster.
Why a poster?
An impactful form that leaves no one indifferent, grabs, agitates, categorically declares its existence!
Why calligraphic?
The emotion of the letters and their combination, the communication of the different graphic forms and styles - all this in symbiosis with the inner "self" of the author, in order to achieve the perfect pleasure of the visual perception of the final result.
Why limited?
A perfect combination of preparation, surface and technology to achieve an optimal result, and accordingly exclusivity, not mass distribution of the edition.
Calligraphy is magic. Calligraphy is a state of mind. Calligraphy is meditation, a path to yourself, but also a way of communicating with others. A way to express yourself, a way to involve others in this magic. For ten years now, the Master's Program "Calligraphy" at the Department of "Poster and Visual Communication" has been preparing specialists in this field, all of them young people dedicated to the cause of calligraphy.
The publication was carried out within the framework of the Competition for Funding Projects for the Inherent Scientific and Artistic Activity at the National Academy of Arts for 2025. The author of the main image of the poster is Kostadin Kokalanov, who is part of the Master's Program "Calligraphy". The font used for the circulation is Snaga, provided free of charge for the project by Botyo Nikolchev (lettersoup.de) and Trifon Andreev (trifonandreev.com).
The event is part of the OPEN DAYS AT THE NHA, which take place from November 4 to 7, 2025 in all buildings and studios of the Academy in Sofia and Burgas!
